First, all external building repairs will be dealt with, including fixing cracks, re-rendering or repairing loose bricks, so that there's a lovely smooth surface ready to be coated. If your house is already painted then the old, flaky paint is usually rh2oved before repairs are made, even if the coating being applied is clear.
